
The Arab Parliament Speaker Ahmed al Jarwan met Wednesday with Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab League (AL) Ahmed bin Heli.
The two sides discussed preparations pertaining to holding the first Arab parliamentary summit that will group speakers of Arab parliaments.
The summit will take place in February in the AL's headquarters.
The event will focus on discussing the latest developments on the Arab arena, al Jarwan said.
In press statements after the meeting, al Jarwan underlined that the parliamentary summit will takeup visions of the speakers about dealing with the challenges that face the Arab region, adding that their visions will be submitted to the Arab summit slated for March in Morocco.
The parliamentary summit will be organized under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, al Jarwan underscored.
He further reiterated that the summit will take up means of combating terrorism as well as the need to establish Arab and Islamic alliances to fight this phenomenon.
