Jordan condemns militants attack on Tunisian army checkpoints

Jordan condemned Thursday a terrorist attack on two military checkpoints in the Chaambi mountain, killing 14 soldiers and injuring 23 others in Tunisia.
Jordan rejects all kinds of terrorism and violence whatever their motives might be, Jordanian government spokesman Mohammad Moumani said.
Moumani voiced his country's solidarity with the Tunisian government and people in fighting terrorism, offering condolences to the families of all victims and wishing speedy recovery for all the injured.
The incident occurred when gunmen with rocket-propelled grenades attacked two checkpoints in the remote Chaambi mountains, the deadliest militant strike on the north African country's armed forces.
Militants ambushed the checkpoints on Wednesday night, killing the soldiers as they were breaking their fast for the evening during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, the Tunisian Defence Ministry said.
