
Jordan will head the 143rd session of the Arab League Council, at the level of Foreign Ministers and permanent delegates, with effect from March 9.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Nasser Judeh, will preside over the 143rd Arab League Council's regular session, at the ministerial level, during the session's opening meeting scheduled on Sunday, March 9.
The session will look at the agenda of the upcoming Arab summit, to be hosted and chaired by Egypt by the end of March. It will focus on the Palestinian cause and the Arab-Israeli conflict, the situation in Syria, Libya, Yemen, terrorism and Arab national security, modification of the Arab League Charter and the statute of the Arab Peace and Security Council, in addition to the items submitted for the Arab summit by the Economic and Social Council.
Secretary-General of the Arab League, Nabil Elaraby, will visit Jordan, during which he will hold talks with Judeh, to discuss preparations for the 143rd Arab League Council's regular session.
