Jordan welcomes the political agreement signed on Thursday y Libyan warring factions in the Moroccan city of Skhirat to form a national unity government, Spokesman for Jordanian Government Mohammad al Momani said in a statement on Friday.
He described the peace deal as a crucial move to unite all Libyan parties' efforts to combat terrorism and overcome all political and economic challenges facing the State.
He hoped that this political accord could be a step towards completing the political transition process to regain stability and achieve progress and prosperity for the North African country.
He urged all Libyan parties to cooperate to render the deal a success.
Jordan supports the newly-announced national unity government to restore stability and security in Libya, according to al Momani
Under the deal, a nine-member presidential council will form a government, with the current, eastern-based House of Representatives as the main legislature, and a State Council as a second, consultative chamber. The presidential council will name a new government in a month and a U.N. Security Council resolution will endorse it.
