Jordan's Islamic Action Front (IAF), the largest opposition party, called on the Arabs to support the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and their resistance in face of the Israeli aggression against the coastal enclave. The IAF, which called on the Arabs and Muslims to support the Palestinian issue which is a central issue in the region, urged the Arabs to support the steadfastness of the Palestinians, according to a statement issued Saturday. "The Arabs should support the resistance of the Palestinians and should give up the illusion of peace," the statement said. The ongoing conflicts between Israel and militant groups in the Gaza Strip have left 14 militants killed and more than 20 Palestinians injured, as militants kept launching rockets at Israel and Israeli war jets struck back, medics said. Adham Abu Selmeya, spokesman of Gaza's emergency department, told Xinhua that a new airstrike on a motorcycle in the southern city of Khan Younis had killed two people and a third one was critically wounded. The pro-Hamas Popular Resistance Committees claimed that the two killed are its members, vowing that it would keep carrying out attacks in revenge for their top commander Zuhair al-Qaisi and other militants who were killed in airstrikes. The ongoing escalation of violence in the Gaza Strip between Israel and Gaza militant groups is the worst since August 2011, when 25 Palestinians were killed in a wave of violence after Israel killed Popular Resistance Committees' top commander Kamal al-Nairab.
