Lower House speaker Atif Tarawneh on Tuesday met the Chairman of the National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) Board of Trustees, Mohammad Adnan Al Bakhit, and received a copy of the annual report on the state of human rights in Jordan for 2013.
During the meeting, attended by the Commissioner General for Human Rights, Musa Burayzat, and member of the National Centre and MP, Wafaa Bani Mustafa, Tarawneh said that the Lower House supports the NCHR and expressed the House's readiness to provide all assistance to it.
Al Bakhit reviewed the role of the Center in the field of human rights, stressing that the NCHR expresses its opinion without targeting anybody because the Center's mission is to search for the truth and bring it forth.
He also said he praised the level of cooperation between the Lower House and the NCHR, and emphasized that the forum is a platform to address issues that concern every citizen.
