
Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour delivered today a written message from His Majesty King Abdullah II to Iraqi President Fuad Masoum dealing with bilateral ties, as well as ways to boost coordination and consultation on various issues of concern to the Arab nation.
In the message, which delivered by Ensour during a meeting with the Iraqi President in Baghdad, the King praised efforts of the Iraqi leadership to enhance the development process, achieve security and stability in Iraq and preserve the unity of the country. His Majesty also hailed the efforts of the Iraqi leadership to achieve reconciliation among all segments of the Iraqi society.
King Abdullah highlighted the need to continue coordination and consultations on various issues of concern to the Arab nation as well as the two peoples to boost cooperation as well as joint Arab action and address challenges, mainly terrorism and extremism.
Ensour stressed the strong ties between Jordan and Iraq as well as keenness to further develop them in various fields in the interest of both countries and peoples. He said the fight against terrorism comes to protect the bright image of Islam.
The prime minister said that his visit to Iraq comes under the directives of His Majesty the king to provide all forms of support to Iraq.
The Iraq president said Jordan will remain an oasis for security and stability in the region under the King’s leadership, pointing to his meeting with His Majesty on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
He also voiced Iraq’s readiness to benefit from Jordan’s experience in the security and military field.
