Iraqi Transport Minister Baqir Jabr al-Zubeidi
Amman - Petra

Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour along with Iraqi Transport Minister Baqir Jabr Al Zubeidi Thursday, discussed bilateral ties in various spheres, particularly in the economic field.
Ensour said that Jordan's relations are with the Iraqi state not with a specific political regime, adding that the Kingdom's stance is clear towards this neighboring country and the underpinning of these relations is not to interfere in any internal affairs.
During the meeting, the premier stressed the need to follow up on the agreement between the two sides in terms of promoting the railway linkage.
''We are eager to install the oil pipeline between the two countries, and at the same time the railway linkage in the framework of an integral Arab project linking our two countries with Egypt and the Gulf states, which ultimately will achieve the Arab economic integration,'' Ensour said.
Ensour briefed Zubeidi on the challenges faced by Jordanian vehicles headed to Iraq laden with fruit and vegetables, where the vehicles are subjected to prolonged searches which ruin their goods.
Ensour asked the Iraqi Minister to ease the procedures for Jordanian drivers without neglecting the security aspects.
Zubeidi assured that his country desired to promote ties with the Kingdom in various fields, especially in the transport sector.
