
All judges, who supervised the runoffs of the second round of parliamentary elections in North Sinai, returned home safely, head of the High Elections Committee (HEC) Ayman Abbas said on Thursday.
In a statement, the HEC said the judges have finalized their work in North Sinai and counted the votes in al Arish and Bir al Abd constituencies.
Two judges, four policemen and one civilian were killed and a number of people were wounded in a terrorist attack on November 24 that hit the hotel where the judges were staying after overseeing the first round of the second stage of parliamentary elections.
A car laden with explosives approached the entrance of Swiss Inn Hotel in Arish. Security guards opened fire and the vehicle blew up.
Separately two attackers entered the building, one detonated a suicide vest in the kitchen while the other opened fire in a hotel room.
