
The European Union said the attack that targeted Luxor's Karnak Temple is a kind of violence that is threatening security and police as well as civilians and tourists.
The attack also aims at undermining Egypt's stability and economic development, the EU said in a press release on Thursday.
The EU said "we must stand united in our common fight against terrorism."
"The EU will keep supporting Egypt's efforts to tackle violent extremism and prevent new attacks. We extend our sympathies to those wounded," the statement further said.
On Wednesday. five people, including two policemen, were hurt in an attack at the historic site of Karnak, in Luxor.
