
In implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the follow-up of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, the Foundation has distributed relief assistance to people affected by the earthquakes in Afghan province of Kunar, in coordination with the UAE Embassy in Kabul and the Afghan Government.
An official source at the Khalifa Foundation said that more than 2,500 Afghan families affected by the earthquake benefited from the relief aid. Each family has got 50 kg of flour, 10 kilograms of cooking oil and 10 kilograms of sugar and 10 kilograms of beans and four blankets of large size.
For his part, the governor of Kunar province has praised the efforts of the United Arab Emirates for providing relief aid to the victims and the poor in Afghanistan and extended thanks and appreciation to the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, which always ready to provide aid to the Afghan.
