
The Wali (governor) of North Darfur State, Osman Yousif Kibir, has attributed the delay in the formation of his government to the past period for the security conditions in some localities at the state, noting that the aim of formation the new government of the state is to enhance the performance, opening further chances for new elements to be a real addition to the next stage which requires more unity between the state's components as well as the preparation for the coming stage of elections.
At a press conference he held Monday evening at the headquarters of the National Congress (NCP) in Al-Fasher following declaration of the new government, he said that the selection of the government members, particularly the NCP members, was done in transparency and through consultation and institutional, Shura and democratic way as well as via consultation with the leadership of the NCP in the centre.
He pointed to the increase in the number of ministries to nine instead of eight ministries by replacing the Higher Council for Youth and Sports by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
