
His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Tuesday, voiced pride in the global success the Jordanian film "Theeb" has achieved and hailed the movie as "a creative work of art."
During a meeting with the cast and crew members of the film, in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, the King said this accomplishment constitutes a remarkable success story at the hands of creative Jordanians, among other accomplishments Jordanians should be proud of.
He added that meeting with creative Jordanians boosts the morale, despite all challenges the Kingdom is facing.
His Majesty told the attendees that not only Jordan, but also the whole Middle East is proud of this achievement, expressing his thanks for the film's cast and crew.
He noted that Theeb's success was made because of Wadi Rum peoples' participation and support, stressing the importance of benefiting from this achievement, in terms of developing tourism in the area.
His Majesty offered full support for such success stories, made by creative Jordanians, emphasizing the importance of benefiting from Jordan's historical events in the film making industry.
The King and the cast and crew members of Theeb talked about the film's achievements and awards locally, regionally and internationally.
The meeting comes after the 2014 and 21-award wining film's participation in the 88th Academy Awards, the Oscars, and reaching the final 3 nominated for best foreign motion picture.
Theeb's cast and crew members said they were happy to meet with His Majesty the King, adding that the meeting serves as a motive to exert more efforts to promote Jordan's status in various forums.
