The delegation of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) on Sunday visited several locations in the war-ravaged Gaza Strip to assess the needs of the population there in the wake of the 51-day Israeli military onslaught.
The delegation, led by coordinator of KRCS's disaster management division Khaled Al-Mutairi, visited Al-Shifaa Hospital in Gaza, met several injured people, listened to their stories about the Israeli aggression, and offered assistance, gifts and toys to the wounded particularly the children.
During the visit, Al-Mutairi expressed the solidarity of His Highness the Kuwaiti Amir, government and people with the Palestinian people reeling from the repeated brutal crimes of the Israeli occupation army.
The delegation paid a visit to the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza where they got acquainted with the progress of Kuwait's continuous relief effort for the victims of the Israeli aggression and the blockade on Gaza.
They were accompanied by PRCS officials who applauded the noble humanitarian role of Kuwait and the KRCS efforts in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.
They also visited Al-Shuja'iya district which bore the brunt of the Israeli air attacks and took note of the scale of destruction here.
KRCS is the first regional and international aid agency to respond to the needs of the vulnerable people in the Strip soon after Israel and the Palestinian factions agreed on ceasefire; its relief and philanthropic projects benefit thousands of people in the occupied Palestine.
The delegation arrived in Gaza yesterday through Rafah crossing on the borders with Egypt and delivered relief aid, including two well-equipped ambulances, to the PRCS and the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza.
