Director of Public Security Gen. Osman Al-Muharij has stressed that the Kingdom is ready to deal with destabilization attempts.
“Assassination attempts on security forces have been launched but these don’t deter us. Rather, these make us more determined to deal with and confront terrorist acts,” Al-Muharij said.
He said that in view of terrorist acts that have characterized contemporary times, the General Directorate of Public Security has taken the necessary precautions against destabilization attempts.
“We have drawn up a seasonal plan for Umrah to ensure the security of pilgrims and this will be presented to Minister of Interior and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif within days,” he said.
He added that “we are ready for battle to defend the homeland and protect our territory as well as our sanctities from any aggressive attempt to disrupt peace and order.”
Sending a clear message against terrorist acts, he said that the security forces are ready round the clock to deal with the followers of terrorism.
He noted the Special Emergency Forces are undergoing training so that they are ready when called upon for deployment to stamp out terrorism.
He said the Special Emergency Forces are ready to do their duty in defense of the Kingdom as well as its citizens.
He said that “it’s not farfetched to say that Sawlat Al-Haq is a combined force of the homeland and the citizens to deal with terrorist acts.”
This means, he said, that fighting terrorism is a joint effort between the Special Emergency Forces and citizens.
He added that the citizens support their country’s efforts to ensure stability since they want to go about their daily life without worrying about destabilization.
