Rector of Kuwait University (KU) Dr. Abdulateef Al-Bader said Sunday the UN honoring of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as "Humanitarian Leader" reflected the Kuwaiti leader's contributions to humanity worldwide.
Naming His Highness the Amir as "Humanitarian Leader" by the UN is an appreciation of his contributions at the humanitarian and development levels, Al-Bader said in a statement ahead of the honoring ceremony, due in the UN, New York, next Tuesday.
The UN is also honoring the State of Kuwait as the global humanitarian center.
Al-Bader said the honoring was also in appreciation of the historic humanitarian role of Kuwait, which has been extending a helping hand to the needy around the globe.
His Highness the Amir's humanitarian contributions "is another addition to Kuwait's civilized image which is full of humanitarian initiatives," he added.
