Director of the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry's International Organizations Dept. Ambassador Jassem Al-Mubaraki said Sunday his country does not take account of any charges against its nationals or NGOs in connection with financing for terrorism unless these charges are based on well-grounded evidence.
"The State of Kuwait received notifications of suspected transactions by limited number of individuals and entities but these accusations proved to be lacking in evidence," he told KUNA here.
Al-Mubaraki made the comments on the sidelines of the emergency meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the ministerial level; he led Kuwait delegation to the meeting.
"We cannot track down any individual or charity for sheer suspicions without practical justifications or evidence," he affirmed.
On the meeting of the OIC Executive Committee, he said it took place at a time when the Middle East region and the Muslim world at large are facing unprecedented wave of violence.
He added that he told the meeting that the security challenges can be addressed by not only the military means but long-term social, economic and cultural solutions as well.
