
First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Thursday left the Sudanese capital Khartoum heading to the Federal Republic of Somalia, heading an Arab ministerial delegation, which includes Mauritania's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Ahmad Ould Teguedi and Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby, for a one-day official visit.
He was seen off at Khartoum Airport by a number of Sudanese officials, Kuwait's Ambassador to Sudan Talal Al-Hajri and members of the mission.
The delegation is scheduled to meet, in the Somali capital Mogadishu, with President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud and a number of senior Somali officials in order to emphasize the Arab solidarity with the government and the Somali people, to support all efforts to restore security and stability throughout Somalia and to promote its prosperity.
The one-day official visit is part of Kuwait's presidency of the current 25th Arab Summit and Mauritania's presidency of current session of the Arab League Council.
Foreign Minister Al-Khaled on Wednesday headed Kuwait's delegation that took part in the Second Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum.
The forum was held to discuss ways to boost Arab-Russian relations in all areas that serve cooperation, coordination, and partnership prospects between the two sides, in addition to latest developments in the Middle East and a number of regional and international issues.
Sheikh Sabah Khaled also met with Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir discussing with him the overall relationship between the two countries and its future prospects.
The participating Kuwaiti delegation includes Sheikh Sabah Khaled's Office Director, Ambassador Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Director of the Foreign Ministry's Arab World Department Ambassador Abdulhamid Al-Failakawi, Kuwait's permanent representative to the Arab League Aziz Al-Dehani, and a number of foreign ministry officials.
