Kuwait is keen on participating in Interpol's meeting to better address global security challenges, said Kuwaiti Ambassador to France Ali Suleiman Al-Saeed Friday.
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Saeed said that Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah's attendance of Interpol's 83rd General Assembly was an indication of Kuwait's keen interest in supporting the international security organization.
The meeting, attended by 88 Interior Ministers from 160 nations, called for finding means to counter new global security threats, said the Ambassador, adding that the event also focused on uniting Interpol members' efforts in fighting crime.
The Kuwaiti Ambassador said that the 83rd meeting also coincided with the 100th anniversary of Interpol.
He hoped that the international organization will continue to counter criminal activities for many years to come.
