
The Ministry of Health, represented by the physical therapy services department, will celebrate International Day of People with Disability, next Wednesday, as the world marks it on December 3 each year, as designated by the United Nations (UN) since 1992.
Head of physical medicine service in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Nabeel Al-Hunaif, said in remarks to KUNA, on Monday, that this day aims to raise awareness and support for people with disability, besides offering further care to enable them perform as any other ordinary person living a normal live.
The ministry of health offers great care for disabled people with various medical and rehabilitation services they need, he affirmed.
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital will celebrate this day under the slogan, "disability is not the end of the road", under patronage of health ministry's assistant undersecretary for medical support services, Dr. Jamal Al-Harbi.
The celebration program includes explanation of the "daily care" system, and how much it would serve such cases, besides a lecture to be given by a representative of the Kuwaiti Society for Parents of the Disabled.
The celebration will also include distribution of educational publications and a medical exhibition, he said
