National Assembly (parliament) Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim confirmed that the assembly has already received resignation requests from three members of parliament. "I have officially received causative resignations from MPs Riyad Al-Adsani, Abdulkareem Al-Kandari and Hussein Al-Quwaiaan," he said to reporters on Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday, it was reported that three National Assembly members had tendered resignations, but the speaker stated that no resignations had been officially presented to the assembly. Al-Ghanim hoped that the resigning deputies would change their mind, vowing to handle the matter in line with constitutional and parliamentary regulations. Asked if the resignations could cause trouble to the assembly, the speaker replied by saying: "The assembly is continuing and the resignations will be handled pursuant to constitutional and parliamentary frameworks." However, Al-Ghanim said it would be up to the assembly to accept, turn down or postpone the three MPs' resignations
