
Fire teams managed to put out a fire at a garage of Kuwait Public Transport Company in Ardiya industrial area at dawn, Monday, and there are no reports of any injuries.
In remarks to KUNA, Deputy Director General at the General Fire Directorate Brigadier Khaled Al-Mekrad said a report had been received of a fire at a garage for company buses. Teams from four fire stations rushed to the scene, he said, and the fire which damaged 70 vehicles was contained before it affected the rest of the over 500 buses parked at the garage.
Fire fighters started battling the flames from the outside and later moved on to fight the fire from within the facility till it was completely out.
The investigation unit is currently gathering information to ascertain cause of incident, the official added.
