The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) is set to launch a new fund-raising campaign for Syrian refugees as of Monday, mainly aiming to ease out their sufferings and woes amid current bad weather conditions, KUNA reported on Saturday.
"The KRCS's fresh aid effort reflects Kuwait's sublime positions and relentless support for all brotherly and friendly countries in the event of disasters," KRCS Board Chairman Hilal Al-Sayer said.
"Due to the aftershocks of the current cold wave, the KRCS has to move immediately to fulfill the humanitarian needs of Syrian refugees in neighboring countries," he added.
The KCRS chief has urged Kuwaiti citizens and businessmen to effectively contribute to this humanitarian relief effort with a view to alleviating the sufferings of Syrian refugees in neighboring countries.
