The deterioration of security and political condition in Yemen is "worrisome", His Highness the Prime Minister said on Thursday, extending Kuwait's full support of steps being made there on a national dialogue.
His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said that Kuwait, which presided over the current GCC session, sought to enforce security and stability in Yemen and to ultimately honor the aspirations of the Yemeni people based on the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism.
"However the tension caused by the hostilities among some factions that caused a clear deterioration of security and political condition is worrisome, as it would have negative impacts on the future of the political process in Yemen, as well as threatening its unity and safety of its territories," he added.
He extended full support of the recommendations for a national dialogue and the confrontation "against acts of terrorism and violence spearheaded by some separatist groups."
