The traffic department in Kuwait is fully ready to participate in the GCC Traffic Week 2015, slated to kick off next week, said head of the event's organizing committee here on Wednesday.
Traffic issues figure highly on the agenda of the Ministry of Interior in Kuwait since they concern the public on a daily basis and require deft handling of these issues by the ministry to ensure safe driving for all motorists, said committee chief Major General Abdullah Al-Muhanna, Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs at the ministry, in a press statement.
Starting on March 8 and being held under the slogan: "Your Decision Decides Your Fate", the event will focus on the importance of community partnerships in enhancing the efforts undertaken by the Traffic Department to provide a safe and sustainable traffic environment.
That can be achieved by stressing the many causes that lead to traffic accidents, which consist of four key elements: the human element, the vehicle, the road and weather conditions, said Al-Muhanna.
He hoped that the GCC Traffic Week for this year would spread awareness about the dangers of the road and the necessity to exercise good judgment while driving.
