As part of the cabinet's duty to follow-up on local major achievements, it held an extraordinary meeting chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Thursday at Seif Palace.
After the meeting, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Justice Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah told the press that the meeting tackled a report on the government's performance in 2013; the report showed that there were 15 government major projects that had been handled in the past year.
The meeting also shed light on a report by the Audit Bureau on budgets and final accounts for the fiscal year 2011/2012.
Obstacles that hindered the progress of some of the major projects were also discussed in the meeting, the minister pointed out. He said that finding effective solutions to eliminate these obstacles were the main upcoming goal.
Some of the solutions suggested were activating an automated system to gather managerial and governmental standards required to accomplish these projects, re-considering the approach of allocating properties by Kuwait municipality, and putting the geographic information system (GIS) into effect.
