Deputy National Assembly Speaker and Chairman of the Parliamentary Kuwaiti-Egyptian Committee Mubarak Al-Khrenij asserted here on Monday depth and durability of the Kuwaiti-Egyptian relations, describing them as "historic and deep-rooted", whether on the governmental, parliamentary and popular levels.
Al-Khrenij said in a press statement that the Kuwaiti-Egyptian relations "will not be affected by any sort of gossip and all attempts to destabilize the trust between the two countries are doomed to fail".
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi paid an official visit to Kuwait last January 5, his first after assuming the presidency last June and held talks with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, where they discussed ways of strengthening bilateral relations and regional and international issues of common interest.
And after less than a month from the visit of President Al-Sisi to Kuwait, Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab also paid a similar official three-day visit on February 1 during which he met with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
