The Kuwaiti embassy in Bratislava on Sunday held a ceremony to mark the anniversaries of Kuwait's 54th National Day and 24th Liberation Day, as well as the ninth anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber A-Sabah's assumption of power.
The celebrations come at a time when bilateral ties are flourishing in all fields, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Slovakia Bader Nasser Al-Houti told KUNA.
He referred to "many agreements" signed between the two countries as well as successful visits by officials from both, which, he said, have contributed a lot to bilateral ties.
Al-Houti congratulated His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people on the dear occasion. He expressed pride over Kuwait's achievements on all levels under His Highness the Amir's leadership.
He noted that this year's celebrations of national festivities follow the UN honoring of His Highness the Amir as a "Humanitarian Leader" and Kuwait as a "Humanitarian Center".
Al-Houti pointed to the honoring of His Highness the Amir by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in November appreciating his support to humanitarian work worldwide.
The ceremony was attended by several Arab and Muslim diplomats in Slovakia in addition tp senior Slovak officials, businessmen, politicians and public figures.
For his part, Slovak MP Juraj Droba lauded the progress bilateral ties have been achieving, especially on the political, economic and parliamentarian levels.
The ceremony included a documentary and distribution of books in English and Arabic on the history of Kuwait.
