His Highness the Amir sent the cable to the Saudi Monarch, who hosted the meeting that grouped Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, UAE's Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashed Al-Maktoum, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE's Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.
In the cable, His Highness the Amir expressed great satisfaction for the brotherly meeting with the GCC leaders, noting it was aimed at boosting spirit of sincere cooperation, affirming the joint destiny and aspirations of the GCC citizens, namely solid solidarity that was manifested with reaching the "complementary Riyadh Accord," thus contributing to unity of the Council States, serving their interests and future. His Highness the Amir lauded in particular the decision by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain to reinstate their ambassadors to the State of Qatar.
His Highness the Amir wished the Saudi Monarch good health, the sisterly Kingdom and its generous people full prosperity and advancement, under the sagacious leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. An official statement in Riyadh, late on Sunday, announced that Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain "reached the Riyadh Accord," whereby the three GCC countries would reinstate their ambassadors to Qatar. They underlined that it would pave way for opening a new chapter in the inter-GCC ties that would "resemble a solid foundation to push forward common action." This accord will ultimately create a strong Gulf bloc capable of confronting critical challenges in order to maintain security and stability of the regional countries.
