
Assistant Undersecretary of Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Khulaif Al-Uthaina said on Sunday that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah extended his helping hand to help every parts all over the world.
The UN named His Highness the Amir a Humanitarian leader due to his outstanding humanitarian aid around the globe.
This came in a press statement by the Ministry after Al-Uthaina inaugurated today Information Technology Centre (ITC) affiliated to Kuwait's Library in Pattani Province, Thailand, in the presence of Kuwaiti Ambassador to Thailand Abdullah Al-Sharhan.
The Center's foundation reflects Kuwait's literary commitment toward its friends, partnership principles and cultural exchange at the level of information technology, Al-Uthaina said.
The Center is considered one of the development projects funded by the cabinet and supervised by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Kuwait Embassy in Thailand, he added.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Sharhan said that Kuwait, as a humanitarian center upon the instructions of His Highness the Amir, extends its helping hand to all countries with aid and projects, including the inauguration of the ITC to serve many students according to an advanced scientific approach.
He pointed out that Kuwait Embassy in Thailand followed up the ITC project since its beginning in 2011 and continued its efforts until completing it.
He added that Kuwait has been making positive contributions for many years till they become approach of Kuwaiti people upon the instructions of His Highness the Amir, who was named by the UN as a humanitarian leader.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ismail Lutfi, President of Yala Islamic University, Pattani, said that his university received a lot of Kuwait's contributions to Islamic Higher Education in Thailand, including the ITC.
The inauguration was attended by senior officials at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
The UN will honor His Highness the Amir as a humanitarian leader on September 9 in New York due to the humanitarian role of Kuwait.
