
The "Egypt is safe" initiative launched by Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al Ahmed to activate tourism in Egypt underlined that the Arab state is safe and secure, the Kuwaiti Information Ministry undersecretary said.
Faisal al Motalaqem said the Kuwaiti delegation – that he is leading – is visiting Egypt's Red Sea resort city of Sharm el Sheikh came at an invitation from the Egypt Tourism Authority and the Egyptian embassy in Kuwait to get acquainted with the conditions in Egypt.
Motalaqem said the Kuwaiti initiative underlines Kuwait's continued support for Egypt and the distinguished ties binding the two states.
He said "Egypt is always a state of security not only for itself but also for the Arab nation as a whole."
South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda welcomed the Kuwait delegation that inspected the governorate's tourist sites.
He noted that the delegation saw the security presence in the governorate and criticize what some media have purported about the conditions in Egypt.
Fouda invited all Kuwaitis to visit Egypt.
