
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah thanked on Sunday the Kuwaiti people and expatriates living in Kuwait for their warm celebrations of the independence and liberation days.
His Highness the Amir also thanked government bodies including the ministry of interior for their contributions to the success of the public celebrations of these two national occasions dear to the heart of the Kuwaiti people and expatriates.
He appreciated at the same time leaders of the GCC countries for marking these two national Kuwaiti celebrations: the 54th anniversary of independence day and the 24th anniversary of liberation day, through numerous media coverage, including the electronic and print media.
His Highness the Amir, moreover, thanked leaders of Arab and friendly countries for their sincere sentiments on these two occasions, noting their admirable stances vis-أ -vis Kuwait during the times of independence and liberation, emphasizing that these stances would be indelibly burnished in the collective memory of the Kuwaiti nation.
His Highness the Amir underlined the paramount importance Kuwait accords its relationships with Arab and friendly nations and its determination not to allow anyone or anything to tarnish them in any way or fashion, saying he has given directives that anyone who attempts to disturb these relationships would be held legally accountable and would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
While His Highness the Amir wished the best for the nation on the occasions of independence and liberation days, he recalled the sacrifices of Kuwaiti martyrs whose acts of selflessness would never be forgotten by the nation.
