
First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al Khaled al Hamad al Sabah left here on Thursday to chair the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) Foreign Ministers emergency meeting which will focus on the attacks on the Saudi embassy and consulates in Tehran and Mashhad, KUNA reported.
The one-day meeting, to be held at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah, will see the participation of 40 members of the Organization including Iran.
Kuwait is the president of the current session of the OIC's Council of Foreign Ministers.
The opening session will start with a statement by head of the meeting, followed by the OIC Secretary General Iyad Amin Madani and then a closed session will be held.
Ambassadors of OIC member states will hold a preparatory meeting prior to the foreign ministers' session.
