Minister of Oil Ali al-Omair
Kuwait - KUNA

Government and parliament members discussed Tuesday common priorities like the organization of Hajj and Umra campaigns, establishing a transport authority and collecting illegal arms from people.
Minister of Oil and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, Dr. Ali Al-Omair, said the two sides agreed on the importance of having a law over sport authorities and increasing the capital of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).
Speaking to reporters after a meeting with the committee on parliamentary priorities, Al-Omair said the government was keen on attending every session with its views listed in parliamentary reports.
On the government's decision to stop deisel subsidy which triggered increase of prices of some goods, Al-Omair said the government has exempted companies and factories from the subsidy halt decision.
Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), he added, asked the industrialists to submit their needs of deisel in order to keep them away from harms way.
Al-Omair said the government was spending more than KD 200 million in subsidy "and some parties are abusing it to smuggle the diesel."
