Minister of State for Housing Affairs Yasser Hassan Abul on Tuesday quashed a press report that found way to social media attributing to him a statement that the government would offer every citizen a house, over 10 years.
Abul told KUNA that his Sunday statement on the occasion of the Arab Housing Day, was a review of a commitment by the Public Authority for Housing Welfare to offer 12,000 units annually over the coming 10 years, seeking to end waiting lists that comprise 112,000 applications.
The Minister urged sticking to accuracy regarding vital issues like housing, and rejected stirring emotions through "groundless" stories. He stressed, meanwhile, that the government is committed to solving the housing problem with "transparency and clarity".
