Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's generosity is felt worldwide and at home, particularly in handling the illegal residents file.
"His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah place the illegal residents' dossier on high priority," Sheikh Mohammad said after chairing the board meeting of the Central Apparatus for Illegal Residents Affairs Thursday.
"They closely follow up the developments in this file and direct relevant bodies to do all in their power to resolve it." Sheikh Mohammad, also Acting Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, added His Highness the Amir's international humanitarian initiatives have benefited millions of traumatized and needy people in the four corners of the world.
"His Highness the Amir's compassion and generosity are felt almost in every part of the world," he said.
"His Highness the Amir's humanitarian record is awash of great initiatives and actions." The minister noted that His Highness the Amir's contributions in the humanitarian domains have added more to the high reputation of Kuwait abroad.
"His Highness the Amir's spirit of giving has elevated the name of Kuwait all over the world and attracted the world's attention to the great values of benevolence, generosity and charity of the Kuwaiti people," Sheikh Mohmmad said.
The UN has recently named Kuwait a "global humanitarian hub" and His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah a "humanitarian leader" and have announced plans to honor His Highness in a huge ceremony at its New York Headquarters on September 9 in recognition of his international humanitarian role.
"The UN honoring of His Highness the Amir is a source of pride to Kuwait and its people," he said.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammad reviewed the reports about the performance of the Central Apparatus for Illegal Residents Affairs in the past phase and the Apparatus Board's future plan of action.
The Board discussed some proposals to encourage illegal residents to adjust their legal status in the country.
