
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah reaffirmed on Thursday the support of the higher political leadership to the security services in their efforts to maintain security of the homeland and the safety of citizens.
During his inspection tour of the new building of the Police Academy in Shuwaikh area, Sheikh Mohammad, who is also acting Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, applauded the achievements made by the hard working constructors of the project and developers of the security system.
"The Ministry of Interior will continue working to modernize the various security sectors in the framework of a comprehensive strategy to keep abreast with the latest developments and reflect the civilized portrait of the country," a statement by the Ministry's Security Media Dept. quoted the minister as saying The Ministry will spare no effort in modernizing the security facilities and backing the police personnel," according to the statement.

On a separate occasion the minister met Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Farid Emadi to review the preparations for the new Hajj (pilgrimage) session.
During the meeting Sheikh Mohammad instructed strengthening cooperation with the competent government bodies in order to ensure the safety of pilgrims and raise awareness about risks of illegal travel agencies.
The meeting was attended by Director of the Hajj Office of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
