Ministry of Interior's Security Media Department Said Friday that airport security is not responsible for opening gates in front of planes.
The opening process is subject to the airline itself under the supervision of Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the department explained in a press statement Friday.
A false news was circulated on social media that airport security didn't open gates in front of passengers, but the department affirmed that the airline was responsible for that mistake.
Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Ports Security Affairs Maj. Gen. Anwar al-Yassin said that responsibility of air security department is based only on providing facilitations and preserving security and discipline inside the area of Kuwait International Airport.
He added that this incident was referred to the DGCA to take a proper action against that mistake.
