Kuwaiti MP Hamad Al-Harshani Thursday was elected as the Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Affairs and MP Madi Al-Hajri as its Rapporteur.
"The committee will give top priority to discussing the law on the joint Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) security agreement," Al-Harshani said in a statement, adding that the committee will meet soon with officials of the Foreign Ministry and other relevant state bodies to have their final say about the agreement.
The committee, he added, will also discuss the issue of terrorism and its impacts on the Arab Gulf region, which has been facing tough conditions.
"The committee's agenda has many agreements that will be discussed in the upcoming period," he noted.
Meanwhile, MP Adel Al-Kharafi was elected in Thursday's session as Chairman of the Public Utility Committee and MP Saud Al-Hariji as the committee's Rapporteur.
MP Saad Al-Hanfour was chosen as the Chairman of Committee of Health and Social Affairs and MP Sadoun Hammad as the committee's Rapporteur.
