MPs are scheduled to look into a pile of files and issues during a forecast marathon session on Tuesday, including no less than 40 reports with queries about purported flaws, irregularities and delay in executing some key development projects.
Agenda of tomorrow's session includes 10 reports containing investigation requests, five prepared by the Audit Bureau and 25 others from parliamentary committees regarding decrees, ventures and relevant bills.
The legislators will debate queries concerning Sheikh Jaber's stadium and Sheikh Jaber bridge's ventures, issues related to State ownership of public rest locations, procedural flaws regarding "the Russian loan" and procurement of strategic transport aircraft.
They will continue debating committees' report on diesel trafficking, Shell's contract, Kuwait Airways' plan to buy five aircraft, purported law breaches by the Capital Market Authority, Al-Zor power plant's contract, a report by the Audit Bureau on delay of completing construction of Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem University, status of the Public Investment Authority (PIA), suspicious remittances, relationship between Kuwait Investment Company with Advantage company, a bill on establishing the family court and GCC trade labels.
The schedule includes bills on treaties for encouraging and protecting investments between Kuwait with Cuba and Greece, averting double taxation with Lithuania, licensing a national share-holding livestock company, a decree proposing postponement of forming the municipal council, another regarding the National Assembly's by-law and a legislation proposing activation of the Audit Bureau.
Moreover, the lawmakers will have on the table other files, such as bills stipulating issuance of the five-year development plan (2015-2016-2019-2020) a separate one on 2015-2016 plan, in addition to reports on previous schemes dating back to 2012.
Furthermore, the forecast lengthy and busy session will witness examination of abidance by international human rights laws, bills on forming authorities for coping with catastrophes, veterinary medicine in GCC states, protection of animals and the ozone, firemen's health care, trade agencies and prospected formation of an "apparatus for auditors." The MPs are also set to tackle a report by the parliamentary budgets' committee on procedures concerning state budgets, results of interpellations addressed to the ex-minister of finance, Badr Al-Humaidhi, and the former minister of awqaf, Dr. Abdullah Al-Maatouq, a previous grilling of the Public Works Minister, MPs' request to specialize two hours to discuss recommendations by member states of the UN Human Rights Council.
