
National Security Apparatus President Sheikh Thamer Ali Al-Sabah has underscored the importance of the Manama Dialogue which focuses on security issues in the region, most prominently terrorism.
On the sidelines of this annual event, Sheikh Thamer told KUNA in a statement on Saturday that people in the region and the international community are interested in security issues related to terrorism, adding that such important meetings are needed.
Sheikh Thamer noted that he met with heads of delegations and exchanged views on both regional and international security issues that the GCC and Arab countries are interested in.
He referred to Bahrain's "distinguished role" in organizing this dialogue for the tenth year in a row that focuses on security files, strategic priorities and regional situations.
Sheikh Thamer leads a Kuwaiti delegation, which includes Deputy Chief of Staff of the Kuwaiti Army Lieutenant General Abdullah Al-Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and other officials.
