Lamamra: Algeria makes huge efforts to resolve Mali crisis

Algeria has made huge, continued and praiseworthy efforts for the launch of an inclusive inter-Malian dialogue, said Thursday in Accra, Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra.
"Algeria has made huge, continued and praiseworthy efforts for the launch of an inclusive inter-Malian dialogue. There's no contradiction with the efforts made by the ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States), through its mediator Burkina Faso's President Blaise Compaore and the efforts of Mali's President Boubacar Keita, who requested in person Algeria's support from President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on 18 June," Lamamra told APS on the sidelines of the 45th Summit of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government.
The Foreign minister said that Algeria is participating in this summit to assess the efforts made so far, adding that "we are in a position to say that our efforts have been crowned with success for this stage, as the inter-Malian is about to be launched in Algiers with the support of ECOWAS, Africa and the international community."
Lamamra underlined that the initial stage of inter-Malian dialogue will start on 16 July in Algiers with the participation of the Malian government and the armed movements of northern Mali.
The Arab Movement of Azawad (MAA), the Coalition for the People of Azawad (CPA) and the Coordination of Patriotic Resistance Movements and Fronts (CM-FPR) signed in June a preliminary platform in which they reaffirmed full respect for the territorial integrity and national unity of Mali.
The National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad (MNLA), the High Council for the Unity of Azawad (HCUA) and the Arab Movement of Azawad (MAA) signed "Algiers Declaration" in which they affirmed their willingness to work for the "consolidation of the ongoing appeasement process and to engage in an inclusive inter-Malian dialogue."
