The last two Algerian hostages kidnapped on 6 April 2012 in Gao (North of Mali) have been released, announced Saturday the ministry of Foreign Affairs in a communiqué.
The release of the two former hostages, Mourad Guessas and Kedour Miloudi, came following that of three others a few days after their abduction, said the same source.
The consul, Boualem Saies, one of the kidnapped diplomats, passed away from a chronic illness, added the source, citing “corroborating information obtained by the Algerian government.”
The same source also confirmed the “heinous assassination” of the diplomat Tahar Touati.
