
Lebanese Social Affairs Minister Rachid Derbas complained Saturday that thecountry's capacity at hosting Syrian refugees "actually exceeds all limits," pointingthat Lebanon is "confronting millions of refugees bound to settle in for years."Derbas told reporters at Rafic Hariri Beirut International airport that he intends toinform the European Union Commission on Refugees and the United Nationsrepresentatives "about the plight of the displaced amid Lebanon's acute shortage ofmeans to cope with this problem which is partly due to lack in international relief."Lebanon is currently hosting more than over million Syrian refugees according tothe United Nations Higher Commission for refugees' latest report.The Lebanese government has called on the international community to fulfill itspledges to support Lebanon financially in its quest to provide humanitarianassistance to the refugees, but so far only 25 percent of the pledges have beenmaterialized.
