
Visiting Lebanese Mufti Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian praised here on Tuesday efforts by Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdelaziz in promoting dialogue among followers of religions and national dialogue inside Saudi Arabia and healing the Arab rifts.
The meeting focused on the crises and troubles that Lebanon faces as well as Saudi Arabia's efforts and full support to maintain the unity of Lebanese people, Derian said in a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency (SPA), following his meeting with the Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Sheikh Derian emphasized Saudi Arabia's great role in prompting the unity of both Arabs and Muslims, hailing achievements made in the Kingdom in terms of the major expansion of the Two Holy Mosques aimed at serving Muslims, the statement noted.
Both Mufti and the Crown Prince affirmed that their countries are against extremism and terrorism, it said, noting that they called for coordination and cooperation between the two religious institutions.
The Crown Prince received today the Mufti and his accompanying delegation and also reviewed a number of issues of mutual concern.
