
Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi discussed on Wednesday with a delegation from the Provincial Council of Anbar, headed by chairman of the Council Sabah Karhut, the conditions to maintain and support it requires to expel the IS gangs of some areas in addition to their economic and service sectors.
Al-Abadi said, according to a statement by his press office, "that our people in Anbar have the ability and determination to expel these criminal gangs from their province and restore areas dominated by the IS organization.
He added: "The liberalization of areas of Anbar and restore its security needs to efforts by the people of Anbar themselves and the government is ready to provide all kinds of support to them.
He noted that "the new government has a new security strategy and one of its components is to form a National Guard as he ordered to prepare a bill of a draft legislation to begin the process of formation.
On their part, members of the Council of Anbar province presented a review of the conditions of the province in the security, economic, construction and service fields and the needs of their province during the coming period.
