The ISIL Takfiri terrorist group is gasping for breath and will die soon after the strategic town of Tikrit is set free, Commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari underlined in enlightening remarks on Wednesday, Fars New Agency reported.
"Given the strategic position and special importance of Tikrit which is located at the endpoint of Hamrin mountains, freedom of Tikrit means that ISIL can no more resist in any (other) Iraqi city," Jafari told reporters in Tehran on Wednesday.
He reiterated that ISIL's defeat in Tikrit showed that the terrorist group is not able to resist in any other regions. "Now that ISIL has failed to hold its ground in Tikri, they will also be forced to run away from the other other cities of Fallujah and Mosul which are under their control now, and ISIL will disappear from Iraq."
Iraqi army, backed by Shiite and Sunni volunteer forces, continued its fight against the ISIL terrorist group inside Tikrit, and managed to seize control of the city's hospital in the last 24 hours.
According to reports, the Iraqi troops inflicted hefty losses on the ISIL terrorists in the strategic city of Tikrit and succeeded in retaking the city's general hospital.
The army soldiers raised the national flag above the building of the hospital after driving out the terrorists.
The Iraqi army intensified its offensive on the ISIL terrorists from different directions on Tuesday, and managed to enter the strategic city of Tikrit.
According to reports, the Iraqi troops seized control of Nahyat al-Alam, a town a few kilometers North of Tikrit, from the ISIL terrorists early on Tuesday and pressed ahead with their attack and entered Tikrit.
