Libya government deplores blast in eastern town

The Libyan interim government condemned Sunday a terrorist attack that targeted a government building in eastern Libya as the prime minister met the UN envoy there.
The blast aimed to obstruct UN efforts to bring peace to the country, the government said in a statement.
"This cowardly act will not discourage us from continuing war against terrorism and making maximum efforts to preserve the lives of citizens," the statement added.
"We are committed at the same time to supporting the UN mission efforts to achieve security and stability in Libya," the government said.
Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thani and his interim government were meeting UN envoy Bernardino Leon, when the explosion took place.
