
Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammad Abdel Aziz asserted his country's rejection of any foreign military interference to settle the escalating conflict in Libya's territories.
In statements to reporters after his meeting with Arab League Secretary General Nabil El-Arabi, Abdel Aziz called for extending the UN mission in Libya to push forward the country's plans towards stability and rebuilding the state institutions.
The Egyptian top diplomat reviewed with the UN Chief the latest developments in Libya in view of the escalation of tensions and conflicts among various armed groups.
He also said the Libyan government has not yet initiated any dialogue with the armed groups, noting that his talks with Arabi covered means of reaching an Arab consensus as regards a roadmap plan for settling the situation in Libya.
He reiterated that the Libya issue will figure high on the agenda of the Arab Ministerial Conference that will kick off on Sunday.
