The license of the burnt furniture factory in Obour City of Qalubiya governorate is expired since 2014, a senior security source told MENA Tuesday.
Police made a report against the factory's administration in 2014 for the license expiry, he said, adding it wasn't renewed over lacking safety measures.
Police, then, informed the bodies concerned for taking necessary legal steps against its owner.
As many as 19 persons were killed and 22 others injured in a fire that erupted in the furniture factory in Obour earlier on Tuesday, according to the Health Ministry.
